In the 1970s, Excelsior High School had a very active hiking club. Staff and students joined hands and hearts, exploring many trails in the Blue Mountains, sometimes overnight, sometimes to the Peak....

Well, here we are thirty-something years later and at 1.30pm on Saturday 11 February 2006, whilst resting our weary limbs at the Peak once more, we agreed to re-launch the Blue Mountain Club.... this time more attached to UTECH and Papine than XLCR... but with the same purpose... to make the best of this national treasure.. our Blue Mountains.
